Absolutely fantastic turn out for the senior blue and white competition at the academy on Tuesday. We had Kapiti judo club, Koizumi Kwai and budokan bring down players. Awesome effort put in and lots of fun was had by all 🥋🥳

We are excited to announce the start of our new seniors beginners class on SUNDAYS FROM 7-8PM!! This is aimed at people 14 years and over. Newcomers will be taking through the beginnings of falling, throwing and grappling techniques so they are better prepared to join the main senior judo class.

We also have lots of training options for kids aged 6-12 years old. Our junior class is the perfect place for your kid to learn about respect, discipline and resilience. We have an excellent programme for kids which allows them to discover what they are capable of. Bring your kids along and get them involved in an amazing sport. A lot of kids grow up at the Academy. They train together, learn together, compete together, experience winning and losing together. Many of these experiences form the rites of passage that make them stronger, both in Judo and in life. We have high retention of members in the kids class through the younger ages and through to teenage years and beyond. They share the journey to adulthood with their friends, learning important life lessons along the way.

Our junior classes run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. An amazing opportunity to get your kid involved in judo. Check out our website for more information or feel free to message us!!

Senior blue and white competition is this coming Tuesday 2nd of July at Wellington Judo Academy 🥋

The competition will be between 6:30pm-8:30pm. Everyone is welcome. We encourage all players from around the Wellington region to attend and get some great comp practise in with other players. Any questions feel free to flick us a message 💪🏽

Martial Arts are automatically associated with coloured belts. At the Academy, we don’t give grades out lightly. Our people need to work at it and keep coming back time after time. Belts are not given out as an ego building measure to keep people coming along, but a by product of hard work and committment. Academy kids learn what it means to earn their stripes.

Our juniors classes are on Tuesday and Thursday from 5.15pm-6.30pm and Saturday from 12pm-1:30pm. All beginners are welcome. Come along and give it a go!! More information on our website.
